A Really Short Lesson in the History of Fashion Photography.

Edward J. Steichen, 1911

 Herbert Tobias, 1955

Let me satisfy your need for some inspiration on this lovely Friday morning with a small history lesson. The first picture you see above is said to be the start of fashion photography! Despite there being fashion magazines way before that it was only at 1911 that  Lucien Vogel and editor of a french magazine decided to feature fashion photography in one of his magazine's editorials! Just think about how different it would've all been in the fashion world if it wasn't for him and let your mind be blown !

On My Mind

Here are a few things that have been on my mind recently!

KENZO Eye- Ever since I stumbled upon the eye sweater above during a random blog browsing session, I haven't been able to stop thinking about it, and the entire KENZO eye collection! Which you can check out here.
Grey- I have a feeling grey is going to be one of the top IT colors of this coming season. There's just something about the calm yet edgy feel the color has that makes me believe it and A/W go together like tea and scones!
TBA- These pair of shoes are basically our modern day bloggers that you can wear on your feet. Super simple and clean with a pinch of measured madness. Check out my post all about the brand TBA here
The Acne Studios sweater- You know how in cartoons someone with bad luck has rain following him everywhere? Well this acne studios sweater is going to be followed by a massive spotlight throughout A/W. Specially in the bolgger world!
Dark green nail polish-  This deep shade of green will be taking residence on my nails all Autumn and Winter long I can assure you of that! A great way to give your outfit a bit more elegance I believe.
Daughter- I never really share what I listen to in this blob here mainly because I listen to pretty much everything from Grunge post to Indie rock (oh so hipster/ mainstream of me!) but Daughter has been in my top most recently played songs from a good few months now and I thought it would be about time I share the brilliance that is her music with you guys. My favourite songs of hers would have to be: Smother, Love, Youth, Run, and her cover of Up All Night (by Daft Punk).

I would love to know what's currently been on your mind so tell me in the comments                                                                                     below! x

Some Whiskey and a Piece of Strawberry Tart(an)

Hello lovely readers,
I hope you're hungry because today I'm giving you a big slice of our favourite kind of cake, the trend cake. This time with a complimentary bottle of whiskey for the trend featured today is: Tartan.
Long and rather boring story cut short: Fashion has taken the traditional Scottish print into it's leather gloved hands and has transformed it into the statement print no one can survive the season without. Oh and animal prints are currently drunk in a smokey room having a mass sobbing session for their moments in the spotlight are officially over.
Here's some inspiration on how you can incorporate the tartan print into your outfits:
